No one prepares us Ladies for just how hard pregnancy is on your body, physically and mentally; everyone’s journey is different.
Whether you suffer from morning sickness, pelvic girdle pain and cramps! Or you’re lucky and have felt well – either way, mentally and physically there’s some big changes we have to go through.
I was lucky to feel well and have an uncomplicated pregnancy so I was able to continue being active and exercise. It helped not only keep my body strong, but its also helped keep my mind and focus strong and I believe it helped massively with my recovery postpartum.
Yes Ladies you CAN keep exercising throughout all of the stages of pregnancy – with the all ok from your doctor/midwife – they actually recommend keeping your body active during pregnancy if you can. This not only keeps your strong during pregnancy, it helps during labour and during the recovery stage after your baby is here – whatever birth you may experience.
Exercises are adapted to suit each trimester and I focus highly on core control and open diaphragm breathing which helps with posture, diastasis recti and pelvic floor training and recovery.
